Why You Might Want to Buy Your Clients Some Checks

I have several friends who run small businesses.

And they all consider credit cards a necessary evil.

They’d much prefer that everyone pay with a check or cash.

Here’s my friend Jonathan’s story…

My credit card processor just took out their monthly fee.

It was more than I pay for my mortgage!

Ouch!

And they get to auto-draw it out of my checking account. I never know exactly how much it’s going to be. And they don’t even send a statement showing how it’s calculated!

It’s a guessing game. And I always guess wrong. I’ve complained and complained to my rep. But to no avail. So, every time it hits, it feels like a punch in the solar plexus.

And here’s what really sours my cream: As a business person, I need to know what things cost. And why. I can’t imagine doing something like that to my own customers!

“Oh Mr. Customer, sign up for my service and I’ll just automatically withdraw whatever I think you should pay without ever explaining it to you!”

I’d be living in a refrigerator box in the alley by next month if I tried that!

Because of this, I LOOOOOVE it when my clients pay me with a check.

And I prefer to pay my vendors by check when I can. And they don’t seem to mind one bit. As long as it’s on time and the check clears, no problem, right?
