How many personal checks were written in the US last year? Take a guess? 1 million? 10 million? 100 million? According to the Federal Reserve 30 billion! Why do so many people still use checks? Well, one of the big reasons is that we burned out on credit cards. So many people ruined their …

If you’ve never owned your own business, you might not know that all payment methods are NOT the same. Cash is cash. Almost every business will gladly accept cash. No fees associated with cash. But cash is dangerous. If it’s stolen there’s no way to replace it. And cash has to be physically dep…

On CNBC TV show “The Profit” Marcus Lemonis always writes a check when deciding to invest in a business. Why does he do that? Well, the main reason is that it looks more dramatic for TV. I mean you can’t see an electronic funds transfer, right? That would be pretty boring TV. But here’s anothe…

A friend of mine, Chris, owns a lumber company. One of the smartest, shrewdest guys I know. Last year, a credit card payment from one of Chris’s customers “bounced back.” The credit card company refused to complete the payment. Chris was out $8,000.00! The wood had already been delivered and u…

When the planes crashed into the twin towers on September 11, 2001, it signaled the death of checks. Why? Because while the planes were grounded, so were all the paper checks. Billions of dollars in paper checks sat in airplanes. Waiting. The banks hated that. They lost money. Big money. An…

Remember the movie Catch Me If You Can? It starred Leonardo DiCaprio as Frank Abagnale. Abagnale was a criminal who specialized in fraud. He pretended to be an airline pilot, a lawyer, and even a doctor. But one of his favorite frauds was plain old check fraud. In fact, after he was captured …

Leonardo DiCaprio played infamous fraudster, Frank Abagnale, in the Steven Spielberg movie, Catch Me If You Can. Abagnale was a notorious for check forgery. But he also loved to impersonate other people. At one point in his "career" Abagnale pretended to be an airline pilot. He would "deadhead"…

Why is check fraud on the rise? Because it’s easy. Say you’re a common lazy street criminal. You don’t have the technical skills to hack into electronic payment systems. You don’t have contacts at a big company who can deliver you a database of credit card numbers. What do you do? Go after pa…

We use fewer checks these days, but criminals are attacking them more than ever. Just 20 years ago, Americans walked around with cash in their pockets and always had a checkbook within easy reach. Most bills were paid by check through the mail. But nowadays, most Americans expect to pay every…

We have all been there. You leave ordering something critical until the last minute. By the time you remember you are scrambling to get what you need on time. One woman knows this all too well. Sandra was ordering checks from one of the big printers at the last minute. She had to pay nearly $200 …

We all do it; leaving something to the last minute. We put things off because we are swamped with other tasks. I’ll get to it next, we tell ourselves, and before we know it it’s the 11th hour and we our nearly out of something we need to run our day to day business. It happens all the time - no o…

Ever waited on hold for 3 hours to get a hold of someone? If you have ever waited even a few minutes, you know that is excruciating enough. Extremely long wait times and automated messages that play on like a broken record can drive you to the edge. A 2011 report showed that, depending on the co…

“Absolutely the worst possible place to order checks from.” That’s how the first Yelp review for one check printing service begins. You might say, “Well, that’s just one review. You can’t sling mud at a company based on a single review.” You’re right. So, let’s read the next one.. “You h…

ASAP Checks, Forms & Supplies BBB Business Review

Testimonials

Your checks are great! I'm very pleased with the quality for two reasons: 1) the perforations are very fine and 2) the checks themselves don't jam.
– Peter Bisnow
The first time I used ASAP I was without checks. Because the QuickBooks checks were so expensive from my current supplier I waited until the last check to order. I remember calling in as I had questions. A kind lady helped me through the process and my QuickBooks checks came in a few days. The efficiency of the order process was impressive and the fact that someone took time to help me as a customer made a customer for life. I also like the reorder form in the check stack that serves as a reminder and template for next order. I wish all of my suppliers could learn from ASAP.
